Youth Leadership: Cultivating the Next Generation of Change Agents
The Power of the Youth Cohort
Pakistan is currently home to the largest youth population in its history. At WEG, we view this demographic not merely as a statistic, but as the primary engine for social transformation. In an era of rising social intolerance, investing in the mobilization and sensitization of young people is the most effective strategy for long-lasting societal reform.
The WEG Youth Leadership Program (YLP)
Our Youth Leadership Program is designed to capacitate young men and women to become “torchbearers” for equity and justice. By engaging students at a pivotal stage in their development, we provide them with the intellectual tools and ethical framework necessary to reshape their communities.
Key Pillars of the Program:
- Sensitization on Gender Justice: We move beyond theory to provide a deep, empathetic understanding of gender equity, encouraging youth to challenge systemic biases.
- Preventing Violence Against Women (VAW): By educating youngsters on women’s rights and the impact of VAW at an early age, we empower them to act as protectors and advocates for human rights in their future professional and personal lives.
- Resilience Against Intolerance: Our curriculum promotes inclusivity and critical thinking, helping young leaders navigate and mitigate the rising tides of social polarization.
From Students to Strategy-Makers
WEG does not just teach youth; we involve them. Students in our program are integrated into various aspects of our national campaigns, giving them hands-on experience in advocacy, public speaking, and community organizing. We believe that by giving youth a seat at the table today, we are ensuring a more just and equitable Pakistan tomorrow.
