In good parenting parents need to understand the needs of their children and consider how age is affecting the child’s behavior and keep pace with their development. Parents should know that If they don’t manage their children’s behavior in younger age, they will have a hard time learning it in the older age. Good parenting skill include discipline a child without being harsh or controlling behavior.

Generally, parents overexplain to young children and underexplain to adolescents, so for better upbringing of children WEG initiated a nationwide awareness campaign urging Parents and Teachers to guide the growing up children on vital issues related to their health and well-being. The aim was to educate them that how they can sensitize their children to tackle challenges of growing up, bad influence of Peer Pressure, Child Sexual Abuse, Addiction and Infectious Diseases like hepatitis and HIV/AIDS. Lack of correct and timely information on these vital issues may lead to exploitation, abuse, rights violation, ill-informed decisions and even deaths.

We also developed manuals and curriculums for parents, so that they can learn the skills of good parenting and align their attitudes accordingly. This also helped in generating the demand for Life Skills Based Education (LSBE) in educational curriculums.
