CAPACITY BUILDING OF GRASS ROOT LEVEL CBOS

Since most of the violence cases happen in far-flung rural areas, we are strategically engaging local opinion leaders and community-based organisations (CBOs). The objective is to give training to these opinion leaders and organisations and build their capacity to spread our messages for building a balanced and violence-free society.

To reach out to the maximum number of communities, a national consortium comprising Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), has been established. It is based on the idea of reaching out to those communities who are geographically hard to reach and sensitize them on the issues of gender discrimination, inequality and violence against women.

WEG as a facilitator not only works on capacity building of the local organizations but also creates awareness among general masses at the grassroots level. By empowering the local organizations, we have positively influenced the communities, making them understand the importance of women’s rights.
