Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is a critical human rights violation that encompasses physical, psychological, and economic abuse, often sustained by deeply rooted patriarchal norms and a systemic culture of silence. WEG addresses this crisis through a dual approach: advocating for the robust implementation of provincial protection laws such as the Domestic Violence Acts in Punjab and KPK and engaging men as strategic allies to dismantle the “honor-based” justifications for abuse. By shifting the narrative from a private family matter to a public human rights priority, we empower survivors with legal literacy and mobilize communities to transform the home into a sanctuary of safety, dignity, and gender equity.
